Workspace

I'm spicing up my bedside desk and already started buying a few things. As you know, I already have my Moleskine notebook for my thoughts. Now I added a bedside carafe to my desk to eliminate any use of water bottles so I can stop making a mountain of bottles on my desk. I picked this up at Crate&Barrel for a decent price, here it is. I must say, it is very convenient since I drink tons of water. Cheers.

TED 2010

It's that time of year again, If you didn't already know, Long Beach is hosting the TED convention and I believe its the 2nd year since their start in '09. I personally love watching the speakers because some of their topics are so inspiring and intriguing. It would be awesome to attend but it is so expensive and its mostly industry cats that attend. Anyway here are the links for the website and speakers, enjoy!

Vampire Weekend: Contra

Vampire Weekend

I am currently listening to Vampire Weekend's new album, so far I like Horchata, White Sky, Holiday, California English, and the Diplomats Son. I dig it, I have to let it grow on me since I really liked their previous album a lot. Until then, it'll be on repeat till I know every song, cheers.

Notebook

http://www.moleskine.com/

So I decided to start writing down my ideas in a proper notebook and I stumbled upon an article in GQ magazine and it led me to this brand of notebook called Moleskine. It looks great, contains a lot of pages, and it looks pretty damn fancy which is probably the reason why I got it, I'm just going to be honest haha. Now the next step is to find a great pen to write with, moreover a fancy looking pen to match my notebook. I can't wait to start writing, I'll post the website if anyone is interested. Cheers.

Discover

Shout Out Louds

Phoenix

I am currently looking into Phoenix's old albums and I am loving it, it is quite surprising that they really had a different sound but I am totally digging it. I am currently listening to United and It's Never Been Like That, I might say they are amazing albums, totally recommend it.

Another band I'm listening to right now, well discovered at least are the Shout Out Louds, yes yes I know I am probably late in finding these guys but they are awesome. I will be listening to Howl Howl Gaff Gaff and Our Ill Wills. Check these albums out.

Coachella is coming up soon, I can't want to see Phoenix perform. Cheers.

Downtown Chi

Everyone was busy today so I went and took the train to downtown to roam around and take pictures. It was great walking down Michigan Avenue and looking up at the highrise buildings. I took a few pictures and had to reload at the local Borders Bookstore. I wish I can upload and post the pictures here but I still need to develop them since I use film. But it feels great to be in another city, its like a getaway for just a week. It's totally different from SoCal, I love the cold weather here with the snow around me, I can totally live here. Anyway, pictures soon, only two more days until I head back home and we only need to visit 2 more restaurants that are still on my list. Cheers.

Free Breakfast

Check out the free breakfast for all the guys in the Wrigley area from WE LOVE LONG BEACH on Saturday Jan. 23rd.

CLICK THIS LINK FOR INFO!

Food FOod FOoodd

Today we went to Gino's East Pizzeria, one of the Restaurants I wanted to visit during my stay here in Chicago. We had the supreme deep dish pizza which took about 45 mins to make. It was great, tasted so good, I gave it a second chance and it redeemed itself.

Then we went to a Fro Yo place called Yoberri, the decor was simple and amazing. They only had the plain tart and it tasted very good, I was really surprised, better than Yogurtland's for sure.

After that we caught a movie downtown, The Lovely Bones and wow was it amazing, I recommended it to everybody, nuff said.

It was 1am when we came out of the movie, we craved some White Castle so off we went into the night to enjoy our burgers. It was a great night :D

It's Friday, which means NEW movies!

This is a movie I've been waiting for to come out and today is the day. I hope it turns out to be a great movie, I can't wait to watch it. The movie pretty much centers around a girl who gets murdered as she watches her family figure out who killed her. Peter Jackson directed it, so it should be great or hope so atleast. Anyway, I'll probably drag my friend Hiromi and watch this in Chicago, cheers!

Other movies out today are...

Jackie Chan's The Spy Next Door
(I hate when Jackie makes these kinds of movies -_- its like The Tuxedo all over again, WHY JACKIE!?!?!)

Denzel Washington in The Book of Eli
(This movie is getting a lot of buzz and great reviews, I think i just might get around to watching it)

Standard Definition to HD??

I can't help but make the switch to filming in HD, the Canon 7D made me a believer on how amazing it is to shoot with DSLRs. Fuzzz, I'm in such a bind, to sell my DVX and upgrade to an HD camera??? I'll sit on it and see what I can come up with.

In the meantime at least I know what camera to use for the music video I want to shoot, lets see if I'm willing to drop $125 dollars to rent it and that's just the body itself -_-

Amazing

Crisis @ NBC

As you know, NBC wants to change their late night line up once again, they want to put Jay Leno back at 11:30pm but what will happen to Conan? That's what everyone is wondering, check out this segment provided by GQ magazine and have a laugh cuz its hilarious. Jay, Conan, and Letterman completely slam NBC.

My thank you movie.

Aziz Ansari.

This guy totally blew up, I first saw him in the filming of Funny People when I had the chance to be an extra for the movie. Now he's been in loads of movies and TV shows, not to mention his stand up special that's going to be aired this Sunday 17th of Jan. at 10pm on Comedy Central. Check him out, hes freaking hilarious.

Chicago Eateries.

- Gino's East Pizzeria
- Lucky's Sandwiches
- Superdawgs
- Hot Dougs
- White Castle (Not in the WEST COAST)
- Steak N' Shake (Not in the WEST COAST)

Spider Man 4

So I heard this on facebook on one of my friend's post about how Sam Raimi walked off from the project and took everyone with him. Apparantly hes had it with the Studio and the creative differences they've had. He's done with it and left the project. The new spider-man movie will be schedule for 2012 rather than 2011 with the movie focusing on Peter Parker in high school.

This is such a shame but good for Sam Raimi to be able to call it quits when the studios has been haggling him. I agree with the article I read, which is right under this post, everyone should go back to their Indie roots and become free again, no more controlling studios to mess with your project. Don't expect to see Tobey Mcguire in the next movie cuz he's also gone. Cheers.

Book.

I stumbled upon this book hidden in one of the drawers in the den. I remembered it being recommended to me long ago and I never got around to reading it. However, I finally picked it up, I plan on reading it since I'm on my winter break and have been meaning to catch up on my reading. In otherwords, I can't wait to dive into this wonderful book and discover its delightful story.

I finally got to watch the movie. I must say it was very good, amazing story, and it taught you a life a lesson, I love that. But I really did enjoy it, I highly recommend it. This is going to be part of my blu ray collection when it comes out. I am a sucker for movies that revolve around traveling via airplane/airport/etc i.e (The Terminal) So go see it! Cheers.

Bedroom.

Just been looking at different ways to put my bedroom together before Summer hits and I finally move out to an apartment. This way I am able to save up the money to buy the bedroom essentials and furniture I want/need.

Aside from keeping it simple with the MALM headboard/nightstand/bed frame/drawer from IKEA. I'll be needing a duvet, partitioned box, a tray to dump my things in, simple lighting, and of course an awesome stereo system for my music. Check it out.

Wes Anderson

Movies I need to own by Wes Anderson:

- Bottle Rocket
- Rushmore
- The Royal Tenenbaums
- The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (The pirates in the movie speak Tagalog! Haha!)
- The Darjeeling Limited
- The Fantastic Mr. Fox (Not out yet)

The only problem was that the lens didn't turn dark when it was in the sunlight so I'm going to have go back and have them fix that. Either way I'm glad I can see far distances now, cheers.

Boiling Crab

It's been awhile since I've been to The Boiling Crab, last time was in Summer I believe. That was when I used to go 3 or 4 times during the week. But anyway, we went today to have dinner with friends before my buddy Cruzer leaves for Hawaii. The wait was longer than usual but there were a lot of honeys around so it was alright and we were under a heater. Anyway, jamming to Sugar Ray and having a beer before I head to bed. Dinner was scrumptious. Have a great trip Cruz.

Pretty amazing stuff.

Thanks Ane!
